Why depression must be taken seriously
There are times when people feel bad. Sometimes those times turns into moments of depression. This happens to a lot of people and this is not unusual. But there are times when it does get too serious and needs to be treated. That would be the reason why in this article we are going to discuss some reasons why you should not take depression lightly.
First thing we should do is to understand what depression is.Depression is usually caused by some circumstances. I have seen many causes of depression in my depression counseling service. It may be caused by unemployment or a loss of a loved one. Those can be some of the usual causes of depression but it can be also due to a chemical imbalance in the person’s body. That would be the case when medicine is usually needed.
But for the normal reasons of depression there are also times when you have to take it seriously. There will be a time when you do not want it to worsen anymore.Because as it worsens the probability of hurting himself/herself becomes larger. As a family therapist San Diego practice I see those instances when it does get too bad. I have seen when a person may hurt themselves. That is the reason why you may want to seek help for someone you know that has been depressed for a while now.
And it can also turn into anger if it has been going on for a while already. If it happens you will worry now about not only them hurting themselves but them hurting others also. But the usual problem of depression is that the person can hurt himself/herself.But once it turns to anger they can already hurt others. That is what we see happen in my anger management San Diego service. That is when they already need to seek help.
As you can see if depression goes on too long you need to seek help.Depression is a normal thing for people but do not let it get worse.
